The United Methodist Church is mourning the sudden and untimely passing of Evangelist Norest Nyakudanga, who collapsed and died while spreading the Gospel at Chisipite United Methodist’s End of Year Revival on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Evangelist Norest Nyakudanga, a 66-year-old veteran preacher from Seke South Circuit, was just five minutes into his stirring sermon as guest preacher at Chisipite United Methodist’s End of Year Revival when he suddenly collapsed and succumbed to death.
As the Chisipite United Methodist’s End of Year Revival was being live-streamed on Facebook, the heart-wrenching moment of Evangelist Norest Nyakudanga’s passing was unfortunately witnessed by a live online congregation.
Seke South Circuit announced the tragic news on its Facebook page.
“We are Shocked and Sad to notify you of the Sudden Departure from Earth of Evangelist Norest Nyakudanga. It happened this evening (Tuesday) as he was Ministering in Chisipiti,” announced the post.
Evangelist Norest Nyakudanga’s sudden passing has triggered a wave of condolences from Clergy and friends, who fondly remember him as a passionate preacher and faithful servant of God.
District Superintendent in the United Methodist Church Rev Risinamhodzi has announced the burial arrangements for the late Evangelist Norest Nyakudanga, outlining the details of the funeral service and burial proceedings, which will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and the community to pay their last respects to the revered preacher.
“Body will be taken from Nyaradzo Chitungwiza to St. Peters, Seke South on Friday 0900 am for the sendoff service after services body will be taken back parlour and then on Saturday enroute to Chikwizo, Mutoko for Burial on Sunday.
May we be with the Family & Church in Prayer at this a time,” said Rev DS Risinamhodzi.
The late Evangelist Nyakudanga is survived by his wife, Taurai and three daughters.
