Two girls from Nyanga’s Kute High School sat for their 2024 November ‘O’ Level papers in the maternity ward of Regina Mundi Hospital after becoming pregnant during the year.
Sources say the two wrote paper 1 in Science, English, Maths and Geography heavily pregnant and are now set to finish the rest of the exams at the school after both delivered bouncing babies.
Efforts to obtain a comment from the education authorities were fruitless, as their calls went unanswered.
Sources who spoke to vhayeya.com stated that both girls wrote their exams under close invigilation, with time allowed for the babies to be fed during the process.
However, it remained unverified whether the students involved were above the legal age of consent, as the law now criminalizes sexual relationships with individuals under 18 years old.
