Mudzi DCC Chairman Cde Mudyiwa Mashonganyika, speaking as the guest of honor at a celebration and thank you rally held at Kondo Primary Ward 2, has emphasized that the election season was over and the elected officials should now focus on delivering results and driving development for the community.
Speaking to the crowd, Cde Mashonganyika stressed that it was no longer time for campaigning, but time for progress.
“Now is the time for elected officials to work and deliver progress to our region. We have had enough of campaigning, it’s time to focus on bringing development and prosperity to our community.
“As the representatives of the people, it’s your responsibility to bring change and progress to our region. Together, we can build a better future for Mudzi North and all of Zimbabwe,” said Cde Mashonganyika.
In addition, Cde Mashonganyika emphasized that the MP and Ward Councillor should always return to the people.
“Our MP and Parliament must always remember that they serve the people, and they should always come back to us, listen to our concerns, and work for our progress.
“The fact that we are here today at this celebration and thank you rally shows that our elected officials are in touch with the community and understand that it is important to engage with the people and listen to their needs. I commend our MP Honourable Benjamin Musweweshiri and Councillor Masendeke for organizing this event,” he said.
Cde Mashonganyika expressed gratitude to the people of Mudzi North for their strong support of Zanu-PF.
“I would like to thank the people of Mudzi North for their overwhelming support of Zanu-PF in the recent elections. Your vote of confidence gives us the strength and determination to serve you even better.
“Mudzi has always been one of the strongholds of Zanu-PF, and we were once again in the top three during the August 2023 elections. This is a clear indication of the strong bond between our party and the people of Mudzi,” he added.

Mudzi North Member of Parliament Honourable Benjamin Musweweshiri opened his speech by thanking the voters for electing him, the councillors, and the President.
“I am deeply grateful to the people of Mudzi North for their support, and I thank them for electing me and our councillors, as well as for their support of His Excellency the President,” said Hon Musweweshiri.
Hon Musweweshiri assured the people of Mudzi North of his dedication to their welfare, expressing his honor in being their representative in Parliament and his commitment to ensuring that their concerns, particularly water-related issues, were addressed to the best of his abilities.
“I am honored to be your representative in Parliament, and I will do my utmost to ensure that your concerns, such as water challenges, are addressed and resolved to the best of my ability.
“The government, through the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme, has started to drill boreholes in this district, which will bring much-needed relief to the people of Mudzi North,” he said.
Ward 2 and host Councillor Cde Musekiwa Masendeke expressed his gratitude to the community for their support in the elections.
“I want to thank the people of Ward 2 for their confidence in me and for voting me into office.
“This is my second term as Councillor, which demonstrates the people’s faith in me. I will continue to work hard and represent your interests in the best way possible,” remarked Councillor Masendeke.
Councillor Cde Masendeke emphasized that the Ward 2 team had developed a Blueprint for a work plan to address the developmental needs of the ward, stating that they would be utilizing this plan to ensure that the ward’s priorities were met.
“We have a ward work plan Blueprint that we will implement, ensuring that we address the development needs and priorities of Ward 2.
“Our aim is to have a solar-powered borehole in each village. The Chori clinic development project is 90% complete, and we are aiming to finish the secondary school at Chingamuka during this term. Road infrastructure, women projects, and a bakery project are also on our development agenda.
“We faced a setback in our groundnuts project, which was sponsored by Mass up, as the El Niño-induced drought impacted our crop yield. We hope to revive this initiative as soon as in the coming season,” he said.
Attendees from Changamuka, Vhombozi, Dendera, and Kondo Districts filled the venue at the rally, creating an enthusiastic and supportive atmosphere for the speakers and community members.
Representatives from the Zanu-PF Provincial and District structures, as well as Village Heads, were present at the event, demonstrating the significance of the celebration and thank you rally for the community and the party.
