The residents of Mt Pleasant constituency yesterday received a donation of rice from His Excellency President E.D Mnangangwa.
The handover of the rice was conducted by Honourable George Mashavave, the Member of Parliament for Mt Pleasant Constituency.
Several Families within the constituency received the rice at their respective wards which included areas of G-West, Borrowdale Race course, Melboureign, Mt Pleasant heights, Artfarm and many more.
Speaking exclusively to Vhayeya.com, Honourable Mashavave expressed his gratitude to President Mnangagwa for providing rice to residents during the festive season.
”I want to thank President Mnangagwa for the great job he is doing for this country.
”During this Christmas period, the President decided to give the rice as a Christmas gift.
”This festive season I was busy handing over the rice to residents within the constituency.
”On Christmas day I handed over rice to Chibonile, Artfarm, today we delivered to Marlboureign, Mt Pleasant, G-West, Borrowdale racecourse park and we will keep delivering the rice the whole constituency,” said Honourable Mashavave.
Hundreds of residents within the constituency also expressed their gratitude.
”I want to thank the President, His Excellency Emmerson Mnanagwa for giving us rice,” said Forgiveness Marange who resides at G-West.
”We continously express our gratitude to President Mnangagwa for his noble deeds,” added Marange.
Nomatter Nhemachena who resides in the same area also mirrored the gratitude.
”We extend our gratitude also to our Member of Parliament Honourable Mashavave for delivering the rice,” said Nhemachena.
Another resident, Neverson Furidze who resides at Marlboureign also expressed his gratitude
”Its a good deed to be remembered by our candidates.
”Today we got rice, when the schools open we now have something to feed the children.
”We are grateful, our wish is for them to continously extend their hands to the community,” said Furidze.
The donation of rice comes at a time of festive season when several families within the constituency have been struggling to fend for themselves due to the El-nino induced drought experienced in the previous season.
However, President Mnangagwa has assured the nation that despite the challenges, the government will continue to feed the people.
Several families have benefited from the donations inscribing the President’s vision of leaving no place and no one behind.
