The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has officially released the fixtures for the upcoming 2025 season.
The schedule reveals that Champions Simba Bhora will take on Chibuku Super Cup Champions Dynamos at the perennial home of football, Rufaro Stadium, on the 22nd of February in the highly anticipated Super Cup clash.
Dynamos FC will face their former Assistant Coach Joel ‘Dubai’ Luphahla, who is now in charge of the Shamva-based side after taking over from another former Dynamos player and coach Tonderai ‘Stanza’ Ndiraya, who has joined the ambitious Mabvuku side, Scotland FC.
The match will serve as a litmus test for both teams, as they have each lost nearly half of their players, making the outcome uncertain and crucial for their season ahead.
On Match Day 1, reigning champions Simba Bhora will host FC Platinum at home, seeking redemption after the Platinum miners handed Simba their first defeat in the league at home in their last encounter.
Other match day one fixtures, Dynamos FC will host ZP Kariba at Rufaro, while *
Herentals FC takes on new boys TelOne FC, Manica Diamonds faces Yadah, and Chicken Inn goes up against Bikita Minerals.
Newcomers Kwekwe United will battle it out with Ngezi Platinum, with Caps United away to Green Fuel, and ambitious Scotland FC hosting Triangle United.
According to the fixture, Highlanders FC will begin their campaign against Southern Region FC.
It is not yet clear which club is Southern Region FC, as the Southern Region Division One was won by ZPC Hwange.
Recently, ZPC Hwange reached an agreement with MWOS FC for the top-flight league franchise, and it remains uncertain whether Southern Region FC is indeed MWOS.
The Harare Derby, featuring bitter rivals Caps United and Dynamos FC, is set to be played on Match Day 12, with Caps United hosting the match at home.
Another exciting encounter in the Castle lager league will take place on Match Day 14 as Dynamos FC will host Highlanders FC in a clash popularly known as ‘The Battle of Zimbabwe’.
This Castle lager campaign will feature new teams that were promoted to compete, including Triangle United, TelOne FC, Scotland FC, and Southern Region FC (MWOS FC).
The odds are in favor of Scotland FC to shine this season, as they boast a substantial sponsorship package and have made major signings ahead of the 2025 season.
The big teams, Dynamos, Caps United, and Highlanders, are striving to revive themselves to the top once again, as it has been more than a decade since one of them last won the league title.
