Honourable Felix T. Mhona collaborates with government to end youth drug abuse, organizing an annual marathon in Chikomba Constituency in May 2024.
The annual marathon will be launched at the 4th Cluster celebrations in Masasa, confirmed Mr Lovemore Masunungure, Constituency Coordinator.
In a statement, Masunungure noted that the marathon campaign aims to raise awareness of drug and substance abuse among youth while also promoting the health and wellness of the Chikomba community.
“The marathon campaign is about raising awareness of drug and substance abuse among youth, and promoting the health and wellness of the Chikomba community,” said Masunungure.
The marathon includes 5km, 10km, and 21km categories for both men and women over 45 years old for short distances and under 45 years old for long distances, as stated by Masunungure.
“The marathon will provide a platform for talented athletes from Chikomba to shine, the famous Elijah Mutandiro hails from Chikomba,” said Masunungure.

Meanwhile, Domboramavara Primary School’s under 12 student, Leetwin Njowa, has made a remarkable impression in the athletic world by clinching a gold medal at the provincial level in the 200m sprint.
Her performance shows that Chikomba is a hub for talent.
